Captain D’s Kansas City Franchisee Wins National Honor

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 24, 2004) – Brian Studdard, a Captain D’s franchisee who owns and operates eight of the chain’s restaurants in the Kansas City metropolitan area, along with five Back Yard Burgers in Johnson County and three KC’s Rockin’ Rib House’s, was named 2003 Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association (IFA) at the group’s recently completed convention held at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The IFA honored Studdard for his help in building Captain D’s brand credibility and reputation of excellence among consumers. Captain D’s president and chief operating office Ron Walker was on hand in Las Vegas to help celebrate Studdard’s accomplishments. “It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized as Franchisee of Year by an organization as well respected as the IFA,” says Captain D’s franchisee Brian Studdard. “Being named as a leader in the franchise world is a testament to the strength of my operations team and to the strength of the Captain D’s brand that allows me to run my business at the highest level possible.” “We are extremely proud of Brian for what he has accomplished and we are grateful to have him in our family of franchisees,” says Ron Walker, president and chief operating officer of Captain D’s. “Brian has the vision, knowledge and dedication to the Captain D’s brand that not only makes him one of our premier franchisees but also one of the best in the nation.” Studdard was one of just 33 franchisees nationwide honored by the organization and was the only quick-service restaurant franchisee to receive the recognition. Studdard has been a Captain D’s franchisee since 2001. The IFA is the world’s oldest and largest business organization that represents a growing segment of entrepreneurs who are building businesses in more than 75 different industries.
